The pregnancy diagnosis techniques for cows using B-ultrasound machines include early pregnancy diagnosis, twin diagnosis, and fetal life and death diagnosis.
1) Diagnosis of early pregnancy in imported cows using B-ultrasound machine
About 40-60 days after fertilization, pregnancy can be diagnosed through rectal examination, but 25 days after fertilization, pregnancy can be diagnosed through ultrasound examination. At this stage, pregnancy diagnosis can detect infertile cows early, thereby increasing the pregnancy rate. The diagnostic method is to confirm the normal function of corpus luteum, the intrauterine crotch water retention imaging is anechoic area, and the echoes of fetal membranes, fetuses, and fetal hearts are echo lines (Figure 10). In addition, if a breastfed child has a slow heartbeat, there is a possibility of premature death (miscarriage) in the future, so be careful.
2) Diagnosis of twin pregnancy using B-ultrasound in cattle
When diagnosing early pregnancy, even after confirming the 1st stage, it is necessary to continuously explore the left and right uterus. Especially when multiple functional corpora lutea are confirmed, caution should be exercised. However, even if the multifunctional corpus luteum is confirmed, two amniocentesis and fetal examination may not necessarily confirm the diagnosis, so in this case, it is still necessary to make a diagnosis later. When images of two fetuses are recognized on the same screen (photo 11-1) or different screens, it can be diagnosed as twin pregnancy. If another amniocentesis is found to intersect with a unilateral cleft surrounding a 1n fetus, the possibility of twins is also high. If it is confirmed that there are two amniotic ligaments but the fetus is not confirmed, it is suspected that premature birth caused compression and needs to be re diagnosed (Figure 11-2).
3) Ultrasonic detection of fetal viability in cows
If it is confirmed that the fetal contour is unclear, the calibration water is turbid, and the growth does not conform to the gestational stage, there is a high possibility of premature death or stillbirth Diagnosis can only be made when the heartbeat cannot be determined.
