Mastering the correct breast massage and milking methods is an extremely important factor in increasing milk production. And it is necessary to use cow B-ultrasound for examination frequently.
Scrub the breast: before milking, it can accelerate the blood circulation of the breast and speed up the secretion of milk. Use 45℃-50℃ warm water to wet the towel, wash the nipple and milk hole first, then wash the middle groove at the bottom of the breast, the left breast area, the right breast area and the back of the breast, then wring the towel dry, and wipe the entire breast from top to bottom.
Massage the breast: fully massage the breast every time you milk, so that all the milk in the mammary alveoli can enter the milk oil and be squeezed out. Experiments have shown that massaging the breast can increase milk by 13% compared to cows that do not massage the breast. Each massage lasts about 1 minute, which is manifested as swollen breasts. The cow uses B-ultrasound to observe the massage situation and decide its subsequent work. The mammary nerve is stretched and there is a sign of milk discharge. Milking can be done when the milker feels that the milk in the milk pool has been squeezed out, he can imitate the posture of the calf hitting the breast and hit it upward several times with his hand to stimulate the milk discharge reflex and promote the arrival of the next lactation.
Milking method: The milking staff should squat at the back 1/3 of the right side of the cow, hold the base of the nipple with the thumb and index finger, and then squeeze the nipple with the remaining fingers in sequence, and do it continuously with the left and right hands in a rhythmic tightening and loosening. The milking force should be even and the movements should be skillful. The milking speed should be 80-120 times/minute. First squeeze the back two nipples, squeeze to a certain extent, then squeeze the front two nipples, then squeeze the back, and then squeeze the front, until all are squeezed out. Milking can be arranged 3 times a day, with an interval of about 5 hours each time. After milking, the cow should be checked by B-ultrasound to see if there is any abnormality in the breast.
