The role of animal B-ultrasound in examining small dogs for delivery

Small dog delivery: Small dogs need Elizabethan collars or muzzles for restraint. For small dogs to be restrained in a supine position, the pet owner should fix the shoulders of the two front limbs of the dog. The veterinarian's left middle finger and index finger should be inserted into the birth canal to touch the fetus and adjust the fetal position. At the same time, gently press the dog's pelvis to stimulate it to strengthen the contraction. The veterinarian's right hand presses the dog's abdomen as the dog's contraction reaction occurs. The fetus is allowed to enter the birth canal and pulled out. Of course, it is best to do this under the monitoring of animal B-ultrasound. The animal B-ultrasound image can understand the state it is in.

When the mother dog is in dystocia, if it is in the back position, the fetal head is too large to pass through the pelvic opening. Under the monitoring of animal B-ultrasound, the left hand can be used to adjust so that the fetal mouth is facing the birth canal. The right hand touches the back of the fetal head from the abdomen and pushes it toward the birth canal. After the fetal head enters the birth canal, the right hand presses the abdomen again, and the left hand pulls the fetus out. If it is a retrograde birth, first press the dog's abdomen with the right hand, and reach into the birth canal with the left hand to touch the tail and two hind legs. Under the monitoring of animal B-ultrasound, adjust the direction to send the fetus into the birth canal. Then, gently pinch the fetus's hind limbs with the left index finger and middle finger, press the abdomen with the right hand, and use both hands to pull the fetus out at the same time. If the fetus's head is large, you can use the right hand to touch the fetal head at the front edge of the pubic bone on the dog's abdomen, push it toward the birth canal, and pull the fetus out with the left hand. When the fetus is in a transverse position, the left hand touches the fetus's chest and forelimbs. If the fetus's forelimbs have entered the birth canal, you can use the middle finger of the left hand to push the fetus's forelimbs back into the uterus. Under the monitoring of animal B-ultrasound, then push the fetus's chest, and touch the fetus's head and neck at the front edge of the pubic bone at the bottom of the abdomen with the right hand. Adjust the fetal head forward, bend it to the right position, and then send the fetal head into the birth canal. Pull the fetus out according to the right position midwifery method.
