Veterinary B-ultrasound detection of factors affecting conception rate in cattle (Part 1)

The effect of protein on the conception rate of cattle detected by veterinary B-ultrasound

The effect of protein on breeding cattle is second only to energy. Too little protein causes ovarian atrophy, delayed sexual maturity, and ovarian dysfunction in cows. When using veterinary B-ultrasound for observation, it is found that the ovarian volume is reduced on the veterinary B-ultrasound data. Protein metabolism in the body must first be broken down into amino acids

, which are important components for synthesizing reproductive hormones. Therefore, when there is insufficient protein in the feed, especially when there is insufficient essential amino acids, the conception rate of cows will drop sharply. When there is insufficient protein in the diet, the conception rate can drop by 42%. Many cows have empty stomachs after veterinary B-ultrasound examination. Feeding primiparous cows with an equal energy diet will cause excessive weight loss after calving of cows eating a low-protein diet. Veterinary B-ultrasound will show a decrease in the first estrus conception rate. Insufficient protein before and after calving results in a conception rate of only 32%, while the conception rate of control cows with sufficient protein reaches 74%. When the protein in the diet is too high, the first conception rate of lactating cows will also increase the number of matings and the number of empty days, which will have a particularly serious impact on the fertility of older cows. Therefore, veterinary B-ultrasound should be used frequently to check the body condition of cattle and adjust the feeding amount of cattle.

Veterinary B-ultrasound detection of the effect of vitamin A on the conception rate of cattle

Vitamin A is a vitamin necessary for maintaining the reproductive function and embryonic development of cattle. Since vitamin A can ensure the integrity of the placental epithelium of cattle, when vitamin A is deficient, the uterine mucosa and chorionic epithelial cells keratinize and fall off, and the placenta degenerates and causes miscarriage. On veterinary B-ultrasound, it can be seen that the uterine mucosal layer of cattle is not smooth, and cases of follicular cysts are often found on veterinary B-ultrasound, and the conception rate decreases. When the vitamin A in plasma is higher than 0.40ug/ml, the reproductive disorder of dairy cows is reduced and the conception rate is higher; when it is below 0.15ug/ml, there is no pregnancy. When vitamin A-deficient sows were fed or injected with VA, the litter size increased by 0.7 or 1.6 piglets compared with the control group. When VA, VE, etc. were orally administered to sows from one week before to one week after delivery, the litter size was also found to increase during veterinary B-ultrasound examination. The most basic function of vitamin D is to promote the absorption of calcium and phosphorus and regulate the levels of calcium and phosphorus in the blood. Vitamin D has no direct effect on animal reproduction, but affects the reproductive function of animals by participating in the metabolism of calcium and phosphorus. Vitamin D supplementation can increase the conception rate of cows and may make estrus symptoms obvious. However, when the follicles were examined on veterinary B-ultrasound, the follicles did not change much. In addition, vitamin D supplementation can shorten the first estrus time after delivery and the calving interval. It has been proven that vitamin D can promote the absorption of Be, Co, Fe, Sr, Zn and other elements.

The effect of energy on the conception rate of cattle detected by veterinary B-ultrasound

The energy in the body of cattle must first meet the needs of life activities, and then meet the needs of reproductive activities. If the energy is insufficient for a long time during the lactation period, the weight will drop, which will cause the conception rate of the cow to drop sharply. When the body condition is very poor, the use of veterinary B-ultrasound to detect the cow will find that the number of cows that conceive after mating is reduced. In addition, negative energy balance is easy to occur after the start of lactation, which prolongs the cow's asexuality and estrus, thereby reducing the conception rate. The proportion of such cows can reach 30%. Veterinary B-ultrasound often finds that the follicles are not developing normally and the number is insufficient. Negative energy balance often delays the time of the first ovulation of the cow after delivery. Veterinary B-ultrasound can show that the development time of mature follicles is abnormal. Therefore, increasing energy and shortening the interval from postpartum to the first ovulation can increase the conception rate. If postpartum cows are restricted from feeding, the conception rate after delivery is 50%-76%. If sufficient energy is provided, the conception rate is 87%. However, too much energy will make cows obese. Veterinary B-ultrasound will reveal excessive fat deposition around the reproductive tract and fat infiltration around the ovaries, which hinders the development of follicles. Even if the cow ovulates and is in estrus, excessive fat deposition in the fallopian tube and uterus will prevent the fertilized egg from entering the uterus, inhibiting the implantation of the embryo in the uterus, and reducing the conception rate.
