The role of sheep ultrasound in maternal fetal protection

2024-09-14 15:05:32 Visits:

After pregnancy, ewes should be raised in groups. Pregnant ewes should not be mixed with lambs or grazed together with rams, but should be raised separately in groups. This can adopt different feeding and management methods for different stages of fetal development, and sheep can be observed by B-ultrasound to ensure normal fetal development. Especially for pregnant ewes in the later stages, they should be tied up and housed, and not allowed to graze in large groups.

Ensure nutrition. Fat and strong ewes provide sufficient nutrition for the fetus, leading to rapid fetal development. In order to increase the fat and protect the fetus of ewes, their backfat thickness is checked by ultrasound to determine their management. During pregnancy, good forage should be fed, and for some thin and weak sheep, after B-ultrasound examination, they should also be supplemented with some concentrated feed. In the late stage of pregnancy, it is also necessary to feed the fetus with mineral feed and vitamin feed containing calcium and phosphorus, such as bone meal, which are necessary for fetal growth and development.

In the early stage of embryonic development, the fetus forms various tissues and organs, requiring a small amount of nutrients but high protein biological value. Vitamins should be abundant and require full value nutrition. During the late stage of embryonic development, sheep were observed using ultrasound, and the fetus grew and developed rapidly. According to the experiment, 90% of the newborn weight of lambs is due to the growth and development of the fetus in the later stage, and at the same time, for postpartum lactation, ewes themselves also need to accumulate some nutrients. Therefore, in the later stage of pregnancy, ewes should be fed with rich and complete nutrients. Sheep should be observed by ultrasound, and the feeding amount of concentrate, high-quality green hay (preferably leguminous grass), juicy feed, and mineral feed (bone meal) should be appropriately increased.

At this time, the weight of the ewe should increase by 10% -15% (about 7-8 kilograms) compared to usual. To enhance the physical fitness of ewes, it is necessary to strengthen grazing activities. Ewes that do not exercise for a long time have poor physical fitness and are prone to difficult childbirth. Observing the condition of the fetus during the period of sheep using ultrasound and increasing exercise appropriately can also improve fetal physical fitness and increase survival rate. But due to pregnancy, it is generally better to have less grazing exercise than other sheep.
